FORETALES
2 min readWhat if we promised you to have a real good time? This is, in a few words, the guarantee offered by the title concocted by the independent French studio Alkemi. The game, with a very cartoony look inspired by old Disney classics, mixes genres for a cocktail that is both original and tasty. We are talking here about a narrative card game in which your choices will have an impact on the course of the story, but also about tactical confrontations and even puzzles. Despite this diversity, Foretales remains perfectly accessible. This is another of its strengths. No need to be an ultra in the gamer category to embark on the adventure.
The player has character cards and action cards (skills or objects to use). In front of him, cards of places or characters with which it will be necessary to act to progress and sometimes trigger specific actions. Will you decide to engage in combat or use your gold cards to bribe the enemy or your reputation cards to impress them? You have to act in a thoughtful way to progress and sometimes guess the right actions to take by taking into account the clues distilled here and there. Fortunately, a help system allows the player to never block and thus discover an original, intelligent and deliciously addictive title, all rocked by the (always) fantastic compositions of Christophe Héral (Rayman Legends). A treat at a low price (20 euros) moreover.
